Screwed up a client presentation in Chicago last month and had to think on my feet

I was giving a quarterly review to a big client in their conference room and my laptop froze right as I clicked to the budget slide. I spent 2 minutes fiddling with it while everyone just stared at me. Finally I just grabbed a whiteboard marker and started sketching the numbers by hand. The client actually said it was clearer than my slide deck. Has anyone else had a tech failure force you to change your whole presentation style?

You ever notice how the minute technology craps out we suddenly remember we actually have hands and brains? We spend all this time making perfect slideshows but forget that people connect more to somebody who can just talk and draw a line on a board. It's like we're scared to look human in front of clients. Your laptop dying forced you to actually teach instead of just click through something robotic.

Waved my laser pointer around like a magic wand hoping it would fix things.
