Skipping out on industry meetups cost me a job lead

I always thought networking was pointless until a friend told me about an opening I missed. Now I make sure to show up even when I don't feel like it.

Yeah, that's how it works sometimes. You put in the small, annoying effort on a regular Tuesday, and that's the exact door that opens up later. The post is a perfect example of that lesson.

Ugh, tell me about it! Skipped a boring webinar last month and found out later a hiring manager was there. Totally feel what @david703 said about the small efforts.

Man that's rough, but honestly I don't know if I buy into what @david703 is saying. Sometimes you just gotta skip the boring stuff and trust your actual skills will show up later.
