Why I ditched pocket holes for my latest table build

I always thought pocket holes were fine for solid furniture because everyone uses them. After my dining table started wobbling, I went back to dowel joints for more strength. What joints do you trust for heavy daily use?

That part about your table starting to wobble hits home. It's like we all follow the easy way because it's popular, until it fails on us. I see it with everything from furniture joints to phone chargers, you pick the fast fix everyone uses, not the one that actually lasts. Makes you wonder what other "normal" things we trust that just aren't built for real daily weight.

My friend's backpack strap tore from a cheap plastic clip, right @jades11?

Nah, sometimes the popular fix is fine... it just gets the job done without overthinking it. Most stuff lasts way longer than people expect anyway.
