Chose staples over glue for a stretch-in job in Tulsa, still not sure I was right
Back in 2019 I had a 600 sq ft stretch-in on concrete in Tulsa and had to pick between glue-down and tack strip, and I went with the strip since the old pad was still solid. It held up fine for her 4 years there, but I keep wondering if glue would have been the safer call with that slab. What do you all look at first when the concrete is in play?
The "old pad was still solid" is the part I'd question, because a pad being solid doesn't mean the slab underneath is dry. On concrete I check moisture first, every time, and if it's reading high then glue was never really on the table anyway. Tulsa slabs can sweat, so the strip may have been the right call and you just got lucky on top of it.
