Hit 1,000 yards of carpet cut today without a single wasted strip
I've been tracking my waste for the last 6 months and this morning I finished a 1,200 square foot job with only 2 feet of scrap. It's the first time I've gone over a thousand yards with zero waste strips left over. Anyone else keep a tally of their cutoff efficiency?

Honestly man, I've found that measuring twice and cutting once really cuts down on waste strips.

Real talk, a sharp tape measure hook is a game changer too. That little metal tab at the end wears out over time and can throw your measurements off by a solid 1/16th of an inch each time. I got a fresh one and suddenly my miter cuts were lining up way better without me having to redo everything. Also, marking with a knife instead of a pencil gives you a cleaner line to cut against, less tear out on the edge.

Switched to a knife for marking last month and my rip cuts came out clean for the first time in a while.
