Warning: I used a $5 plastic putty knife to seat carpet under a tricky baseboard heater in a 1950s Reno house and it saved me an hour of fighting.
The metal blade on my regular tucker was too thick and kept catching, but the flexible plastic one slid right in without damaging the old cast iron, so has anyone found other weird tools that work for specific snags?

Seems like overkill for a one time fix. A butter knife from the kitchen would probably do the same thing. Not everything needs a special tool.

Okay but the butter knife thing is how you end up with a stripped screw or a broken tool. I tried that once on a cabinet hinge and the soft metal just bent. Had to buy the right size driver anyway, plus a new hinge. Sometimes the special tool is cheaper than fixing your mistake.

My dad's garage is full of single-use tools.
