A trick for spotting a fake apology in the first 8 seconds worked on 11 out of 12 videos I tried it on
I got tired of watching 15 minute apology videos trying to guess if the person meant it, so I started timing how long it takes them to name the actual thing they did. If they don't say the specific act in the first 8 seconds, they're usually stalling with mood and music. I tried it on 12 apology videos from the past 2 years and it was right 11 times, at least by my own guess. But my buddy says that's backwards, because some people need a minute to get composed and a fast apology can just be a rehearsed one. I get that side too, and 11 out of 12 is not proof of anything. So which is it, fast and specific means real, or slow and careful means real? Curious how other folks here judge it.
