Update: Our fridge note battle made me see celeb parent gossip in a new way
My dad and I kept leaving passive-aggressive notes on the fridge about empty containers. It was annoying but normal for us. Then I read a gossip piece about a famous mom and her teen being at odds, painted as some huge rift. It hit me that our little note war was the same kind of thing, just not in the spotlight. I work nights, so I see a lot of these stories pop up on my phone. They always make everyday family friction look like breaking news. Now when I see headlines about celeb parenting fails, I think about our fridge. It's usually just regular family life, not the drama they sell.

Yeah, I see that all the time with local news too. They'll take some tiny neighborhood disagreement about a fence line or loud music and frame it like it's a major political standoff. It's the same machine, just smaller, because they need to fill time and get clicks from whatever's nearby.

We have a passive-aggressive toothpaste tube squeezing war in my bathroom. My husband and I leave it totally flat, and the other one will roll it up tight just to make a point. It's the same exact thing, just toothpaste instead of fridge notes.
