Oh man, been there. My brother swore up and down that the guy who ate only potatoes for a year was a hoax, and I took that bet so fast. Turns out the dude really did it, lived on nothing but spuds and lost like 50 pounds or something. I was out 20 bucks and had to hear about it at every family dinner for months after.
