Rooftop solar on my house beat the community solar plan by a mile
I signed up for a community solar subscription in 2022, paying $0.12 per kWh, thinking it was the easy green choice. Then last March I got panels installed on my own roof here in Tucson for $14,500 after tax credits. My actual cost is now $0.07 per kWh and I own the system outright. The community solar still had admin fees and the credits never matched my bill cleanly. Has anyone else switched from a shared plan to their own array and seen a bigger drop than expected?
