The $5 insulation strip that cut my heating bill by 30 bucks a month

I used to think fighting climate change meant buying solar panels or an electric car. Stuff I can't really afford. But my apartment was drafty as hell last winter and I finally got annoyed enough to try something simple. I bought a roll of foam weatherstripping tape for five bucks at the hardware store and sealed up my windows. My gas bill dropped from $110 to $80 after just one month. I'm not saying this solves everything but it made me realize small fixes add up. Has anyone else found a cheap DIY change that actually lowered their energy use?

Wait... you mean I don't need a Tesla to save the planet?

And yeah, same here. I did the exact thing with some cheap foam tape on my bedroom window last fall and my electric bill dropped noticeably by the next month. It felt way too simple to actually work but it really did, and now I look for little leaks everywhere.

Totally get that feeling, it's so satisfying when a cheap fix actually works out like that...
