Remote access to our machines reshaped my weekend work

I used to make trips to the shop just to check on long runs. Now I can monitor progress from my couch, and it saves a lot of unnecessary driving.

Read something about this in a trade mag last month. Totally makes weekend work less of a hassle, lol.

One thing people don't talk about is the mental switch needed for weekend tasks. Tools help, but if you're still stressed about missing personal time, it's just a band-aid. (I mean, who wants to spend Saturday feeling guilty about not relaxing?) That article probably had good points, but without dealing with that guilt, it's only half the solution. Maybe pairing those tips with a clear cut-off time for work on weekends makes a bigger difference. Otherwise, we're just moving hassle from one part of the day to another.
