Solid carbide vs cobalt roughers on 4140, night and day difference

I spent two years running cobalt roughers on 4140 in our shop near Toledo, always fighting chatter and burning through inserts. Last month I tried a 1/2 inch solid carbide rougher with variable flute geometry from a local tool rep. Cut time on a part dropped from 11 minutes to 6, and the finish was so clean I skipped a whole pass. Has anyone else made the switch and seen their spindle load numbers change that much?
