Spent $500 on a coding bootcamp prep course... total waste
I dropped $500 on this 'master Python in 30 days' course from a guy who claimed he worked at Google. Three weeks in and all it was is recycled YouTube tutorials and a PDF that had typos everywhere. I could have learned more from the free CS50 course at Harvard for zero dollars. Has anyone else fallen for one of these pricey prep courses that didn't deliver?

Those "master X in 30 days" courses are basically a meme with a price tag.

Also, I hate to be that guy, but CS50 is actually a Harvard class, not a free prep course. It's a real intro to computer science, not a Python specific thing. You're right that it's way better than what you got though. The problem with these bootcamp prep courses is they're mostly just fluff someone threw together over a weekend. I've seen people pay $200 for "leetcode prep" that's just a list of problems you can find on the actual leetcode site for free. It's almost a scam at that point. If you really want to learn, just pick a project and start building it, you'll get way more out of that than any paid course.

The whole "master Python in 30 days" thing is such a red flag honestly. @the_oliver hit it right when they said these courses are usually just fluff put together over a weekend. I fell for one years ago too, a $400 "data science bootcamp" that was basically a list of links to free YouTube videos with a $400 sticker on it. If you want your money back, try disputing the charge with your credit card company as a service not delivered. Most of these guys rely on nobody fighting back. And for real, just pick a tiny project like a calculator or a to-do list and you'll learn more in 3 hours than that whole 30 day course taught you.
