Vent: Forgetting to comment your code is like not labeling leftovers in the fridge
I just spent an hour trying to figure out what my own script does because I didn't leave any notes (talk about a beginner's mistake).

That leftover metaphor is perfect, it really is the same feeling. Opening your own code six months later and it's just a wall of weird gibberish. You sit there staring, knowing you wrote this but having zero memory of why. The worst part is the time you waste just trying to remember your own plan, time you could have saved with two quick notes. Always end up promising to comment more, and then the cycle repeats.
