Remember when you had to paint a whole room just to cover one bad spot?

Saw a whole thread about paint pens on a DIY blog last week. They were saying the same thing as you @the_blake, that the control is way better than a brush for tiny fixes. I always make a huge mess trying to use those little sample pots. Gonna grab a couple for my baseboards because they're all scuffed up.

Watching a certain actor's apology from a hotel room in Boise made me spot a new tell

Honestly I kind of miss those old TVs sometimes. The weird colors gave everything a soft, dreamy look that was actually pretty nice. It wasn't about seeing the show perfectly, it was about the vibe of being in some random motel room. That washed out picture felt like part of the whole travel experience. A super sharp modern screen would just ruin that memory for me.

Bought a $60 wireless meat probe and it saved my brisket cook

Honestly, the real tech here is an alarm that can actually wake you up from a dead sleep. My regular alarm gets ignored for an hour. But a brisket alert? That's a five alarm fire. I'd probably wake up thinking the house was burning down, but at least the meat would be saved.

Serious question, has anyone else had trouble with that new 'quick quench' oil?

Doubt it's the oil's fault every time. Seen guys blame the quenchant when they overheated the steel to begin with. @wader71, your buddy check his temps? A hairline crack near the eye sounds more like a stress point from forging or a bad heat cycle. Fast oils work fine if you know what you're doing.

Laid my first 500 bricks in a day on the new school job in Springfield

Did you find the rhythm just clicked today? That's a huge jump, good for you. Ignore the doubters, @emmaking, a straight line is still a solid wall.
