So I read the FDA's caffeine limit chart and noticed something weird

Found out the recommended daily cap is 400mg but a single 12oz drip coffee from most chains hits 260mg, meaning 2 cups basically maxes you out. How are folks out here drinking 4 or 5 cups like it's nothing, or am I just a lightweight who should stick to decaf after 2 PM?

...and honestly that chart scared me too until I realized the 400mg is a ceiling, not a goal. Most people don't actually drink 5 cups, they drink one giant travel mug that's technically 2 or 3 servings and they sip it over 4 hours. The trick I figured out is to split my coffee in half, so I get one real cup in the morning and then a smaller one around 1pm, and I stop after that. Also some chains use way stronger beans than others, so a 12oz at one place hits harder than a 16oz at another. If you're crashing after 2pm, try switching to half-caf or just a small green tea instead of full decaf, it's a smoother slide down.
