Why does nobody talk about how stale coffee shops make their drip taste
I brewed my own drip at home for 8 years with pre ground beans from the grocery store, and then a guy at a shop in Asheville told me to spend $18 on a grinder instead of a fancy machine, which cut my mornings from 15 minutes to 4. Does anyone else think fresh ground beans in a $20 drip pot beat a $400 machine with old grounds?
Does the water temp matter more than people admit? Most shops keep their drip pots on those burners for hours, so the coffee keeps cooking and gets that burnt, flat taste no matter what beans they use. Fresh grounds in a cheap pot at home win because you drink it right away instead of letting it sit there getting worse.
