Thought I was a hardcore collector until my buddy pointed out my storage issue
I had this moment last month when my friend came over to see my comic collection. I was all proud showing off my long boxes stacked three high in the closet. He goes, 'You do realize those bottom boxes are getting crushed, right?' I looked closer and sure enough the boxes on the bottom were bowing out at the sides. The bags and boards inside were getting bent and the comics were starting to curl at the edges. I had been storing them that way for like four years without even thinking about it. He showed me how the weight of the top boxes was pressing down and ruining the structural integrity of the whole stack. So now I have all my boxes laid flat and I bought some cheap metal shelf racks from Lowe's to spread them out. Anyone else ever realize they were destroying their collection by accident just because of bad storage habits?

Ever think your comics were weightlifting for fun?

Idk man, I had a buddy who stacked his vinyl records sideways and wondered why they were all warped after a year. He said it was like watching his savings get slowly bent out of shape.

Man, that's rough. @emma_wells83 your buddy learned the hard way. I've seen people do that with their whole collection and it's always a bummer. Gotta stack them flat, no question.
