Can we talk about how many people still don't back up their data?

I just read a report from Backblaze that said 21% of people have NEVER backed up their computer. Found it linked on a tech blog. How do you even start that conversation with a client without sounding like you're just upselling?

That Backblaze stat is wild, but honestly, I get it. I used to be that person until my laptop died during finals week in college (a story I tell too often, sorry). The trick is to make it about the pain, not the product. I usually ask something like, "What's on your computer that would ruin your week if it vanished?" It frames the backup as a solution to their specific fear, not a random tech chore.

Honestly, @sarahpark, I think that "random tech chore" feeling is exactly why most people never start.
