Finally hit 10,000 repaired laptops and it hit me weird

I've been doing board level repair for about 12 years now, mostly for a local shop in Cleveland. Last week I logged a customer's machine into my database and it was number 10,000 exactly. I didn't even realize I was tracking that close to a round number. What got me is that 10,000 is about the population of a small town, and I've basically fixed a whole town's worth of busted screens, bad caps, and spilled coffee. It just made me think about how many stories were in those machines people brought in. Anyone else ever hit a random milestone like that and feel some type of way about it?

Honestly, @jenny_lee, that question reminds me of a story my buddy Marcus told me once. He works at a repair shop in Detroit and said a guy brought in this beat-up Dell from 2015 with a broken hard drive. When they got it working, they found a folder full of pictures of the guy's dog that had passed away, and he started crying in the store.

Pick out the weirdest machine you remember fixing out of those 10,000? I mean, the one that really stuck with you for some reason, not just the most expensive or hardest one. Like was there a laptop that came in with something really personal left on it, or a repair that felt like you were fixing more than just hardware?

Take it easy @jenny_lee, it's a busted laptop not a lost puppy lol. Sometimes a dirty screen is just a dirty screen, no deep meaning behind it.
