I finally found why that one client's PC kept dropping offline
Been fighting with a random network dropout for a client in Bakersfield for two weeks. Replaced the router, the cable modem, even ran a whole new Cat6 line through their attic. Turned out the UPS they had the modem plugged into was dying and sagging voltage just enough during surges to drop the connection. Has anyone else had a power strip or UPS cause intermittent network issues like that?

Oh wow, I once spent three hours swearing at a toaster that was actually just a dying power strip.

Found that out the hard way a few years back with a small office setup. Was blaming the ISP for days until I noticed the UPS would click and buzz when the AC compressor kicked on in the warehouse next door. Put a kill-a-watt meter on it and saw the voltage dip down to like 95 volts for a split second. The modem would stay on but the network chip would just glitch out and reset. Swapped the UPS for a basic $30 surge protector and never had another dropout. Your mileage may vary but yeah, those cheap backup units can cause more problems than they solve if the battery is old or the capacitors are going.
