Swapped my old thermal paste for PTM7950 and wow...

Used to re-paste laptops every 6 months with Arctic MX-4, figured that was just normal maintenance. Last month I tried Honeywell PTM7950 on a Dell XPS 15 and temps dropped 8 degrees under load, still holding strong. Anyone else make the switch and notice a big difference?

@olivia_knight you get it, buddy. That first time with PTM is like a religious experience.

Blew my mind when I first tried PTM7950 because I used to think repasting every three months was just part of owning a gaming laptop. Turns out I was basically a thermal paste addict with a really sweaty CPU. The phase change stuff is like magic goo that actually knows how to stay put without pumping out after a week. My Razer Blade went from sounding like a jet engine to just gentle fan noise and I nearly cried. Still can't believe I wasted years with regular paste like some kind of thermal fool.

Three months? Man I was doing it every six weeks on my old MSI because the stock paste would pump out so bad. @olivia_knight you're right about PTM7950 being magic goo though, I put a sheet on my 13900HX and the delta between cores dropped from like 15c to 5c under load. Just make sure you cut it a tiny bit smaller than the die so it doesn't squish out the sides during that first heat cycle.
