Back in the day, rain meant no pour. Just tried a new compound, slab set fine in a mist.

Read about a new hydrophobic mix last week.

Right? It's crazy how we used to plan our whole week around a weather report that was basically a guess.

Oh man, the old "wait and see" game with the weather. You'd watch the sky like a hawk, then one random cloud would show up and ruin the whole day's plan (and the slab). Now you can just shrug and keep working in a drizzle like some kind of concrete wizard. Progress is just showing off at this point.

Seriously, my dad used to have us wrestle a giant tarpaulin over a fresh pour if it even looked misty. We'd be fighting wind and wet plastic for an hour just to save the finish. It felt like the universe was laughing at us the whole time.

Dealt with a monsoon once right after we finished a driveway. Had to grab every spare tarp and blanket in the truck while the sky just opened up. Felt like the world was spiting us personally, @oscar949. Spent the next hour soaked and swearing, trying to weigh down the edges with bricks. Almost made me miss the old days of just hoping for the best.
