Foreman said my edges looked like a beaver chewed them, so I changed one thing on my float
I was finishing a 40x60 slab in Akron and my edges kept tearing out, so I was overworking them with the magnesium float trying to fix it. The foreman walked by and said "you're floating the bleed water right back into the edge, let it set up 20 more minutes before you touch it." Do you all wait for that sheen to disappear before you hit your edges, or does it depend on the mix?
Wow, so the fix was really just timing and not the float itself? I always thought you had to get on the edges right after screeding or they'd dry out on you, but now I'm wondering if I've been rushing it this whole time. How do you guys read that sheen on a hot day versus a cool one, since I feel like the bleed water shows up way faster in July than it does in October?
