Just finished a 1000 yard pour and the slump test came back at exactly 3 inches
We were doing a warehouse slab in Dallas and the truck showed up looking a bit wet. I figured we were in for a fight with the bull float, but the test was spot on. That perfect slump meant we could get it down and troweled without any extra water or waiting around. It's the first time I've hit that number dead on in maybe five years of running jobs. Has anyone else had a mix come in exactly right when you were sure it wouldn't?

My last slump test was so off the chart it needed its own zip code.

Oh man, @terryscott, that's the kind of slump that makes you want to just add more water and pretend it never happened. Been there. Honestly, you gotta check if your sample was just way too dry to start with, or if the timing got messed up. A result that wild usually means something basic went wrong in the setup. I'd say run it again with a fresh batch and watch the clock like a hawk.
