Tried a magnesium float on my last driveway pour and got a darker finish than I expected

I figured a magnesium float would just smooth things out faster, but the darker color surprised me, has anyone else seen this happen with certain mixes?

Totally happened to me last month. Hit it too soon and it got really dark.

Read somewhere too much water in the mix can cause weird curing issues, did you check that?

Did you use a different mix design than usual or add extra water to the truck?
