That Thanksgiving fight over tap water shifted how I see conspiracy debates

I used to dive into every conspiracy debate online, thinking it was just fun talk... but then my aunt started believing in one about the water supply. She stopped drinking tap water and argued with everyone at Thanksgiving. It hit me that these ideas aren't just harmless fun. They affect real people. Seeing her fear made me realize how deep these beliefs can go. I was sharing stuff without thinking who it might hurt. Now I'm careful about what I say, even if I find some parts interesting. It's tough to balance wanting to learn and not causing harm... and I'm still figuring it out.

Damn, that's rough. Do you ever talk to your aunt about it now, or is that just a lost cause after how heated it got?

Watched my friend text her aunt after a huge fight about money. She sent a funny meme about cats, which broke the ice. @jessica921, it took weeks but they finally met for coffee. Does time really help with family drama?

Can time fix things if no one says sorry?

That's a really good question from @the_diana. Time can help people cool off, but someone still has to make a move like sending that meme. Maybe it's just me, but without a small step, time just lets things get more awkward.
