Drone survey mismatch cost me 3 lost afternoons at a jobsite in Austin

Last Tuesday our site drone came back with elevation data that was off by almost 2 feet near the north corner. I trusted it for a foundation layout and we started trenching. By Thursday the foreman pulled me aside and said the pipe slope looked wrong, so we had to redo the whole run with a manual transit. Turns out the RTK base station lost signal under that big oak tree and the software just guessed. Has anyone else had drone data go bad without any warning flags?

I read somewhere that tree cover can mess with RTK fix, the drone logs usually show it though.
