Got a cloud of drywall dust in my face on a job in Austin and it finally clicked for me

I was working on a small kitchen reno last month in Austin, and the drywall crew started sanding without sealing off the room. A huge cloud of dust floated right into my face and I couldn't breathe for a second. That's when I realized I've been ignoring proper dust control on my own projects for way too long. I went out that same day and bought a HEPA vacuum and some zip wall poles for $350 total. The next job I did had almost no dust in the air and my helper didn't even sneeze once. Has anyone else had a moment where a simple fix like this saved you from a bigger headache down the road?

Grabbed some of those zip wall poles myself after a similar mess, best $350 I ever spent. Cleanup time cut in half and my lungs actually thank me now.

Wait do those actually seal off the dust or just kinda contain it?

Right? Nothing like choking on someone else's drywall dust to make you realize your own setup is trash. $350 is a steal for not reliving that horror every job.
