Pro tip: setting my laser level on a camera tripod instead of a ladder
Was marking grid lines for a drop ceiling in a Denver office last Thursday and realized the tripod's fine adjust knobs let me dial in dead level in under a minute, anyone else ditch the step stool for camera gear?

My buddy Jason tried that trick last spring when he was putting up shelves in his garage. He had this old Manfrotto tripod from his wedding photography days and stuck his laser level on it. Worked great until his cat knocked the whole thing over and the level cracked on the concrete floor. Now he just uses a regular ladder and mutters about the $80 he spent on a replacement.

Tripped over my own extension cord last week trying this exact setup with my dad's old tripod from the 90s. Ngl, the laser hit the floor so hard I thought I broke it, but somehow the level survived while I landed on my tailbone. Honestly, the worst part was having to explain to my coworker why I was sprawled out on the concrete like a turtle on its back. Tbh, I'm sticking with stepladders from now on before I end up in the ER for a bruised ego.
