Bathroom light at my aunt's showed my foundation was off

I was doing my makeup at my aunt's house last week. Maybe it's just me, but the light there showed my foundation didn't blend right at all. How do you guys check for lighting issues with client makeup?

Disagree with the whole lighting worry. Makeup always looks different depending on the bulb, so chasing a perfect match is pointless. Clients see themselves in various lights all day and rarely notice minor blending issues. Focusing too much on this just adds stress for no real gain. Trust your skills and let the makeup do its job. Constantly checking for lighting problems makes the process harder than it needs to be.

Is there a special place in hell for bathroom lighting? My aunt's fixture showed my foundation was patchy in ways I didn't think possible. It's like a free, unwanted critique from the light bulb gods.

But what if that cruel bulb is doing you a favor? You can fix the patchiness now instead of your coworker's sidelong glance in the office fluorescents later. Consider it a brutally honest friend.
