Best day in 3 years was the Thursday I had 4 no-shows in a row.

Used that dead time to finally fix my foundation shade mixing system and now I'm blending perfect colors in 30 seconds instead of 5 minutes - has anyone else found that cancellations secretly help your technique?

Oh man, I feel this. Cancellations are basically the universe's way of giving you a free workshop.

The worst thing about cancellations for me is when I've already mentally prepared for a full day and everything falls apart... it throws my rhythm off completely. Last month I had 3 people cancel back to back and I ended up wasting the whole time scrolling on my phone instead of being productive. Different strokes for different folks I guess, but @tessap73, I'd trade a free workshop for a full schedule any day of the week.

Honestly, I'd take the cancellations any day. At my firm, I spend all day staring at spreadsheets and chasing down receipts, so a free afternoon where I can just zone out and scroll guilt-free sounds like a bonus, not a waste. Plus, that mental prep you did? It's just practice for rolling with the punches next time, which is way more useful in the long run than a packed schedule.
