Had to say no to a bleach request that felt all kinds of wrong

So this mom comes in, her kid's hair is already thin from box dye, and she wants a full bleach for some school dance. I'm thinking this is a bad idea, it'll probably break right off, but she's insisting and getting mad when I say no. Honestly, where do you guys stand on risking hair health for a client's short term want?

Yikes, I read a blog post where someone's hair broke off from too much bleaching before prom. Not a good look for pictures.

A strand test would have shown her the breakage risk clearly! Good call protecting the hair's health.
