I finally checked out that new salon in the old bank building downtown
They have this whole wall of vintage barber tools from the 1920s, all framed up behind glass. The owner said she found them in the actual bank vault when they were doing the remodel. It got me thinking about how much our tools have changed, but the basic ideas are still the same. Has anyone else seen a cool display like that in a shop?

But what if the glass keeps them safe for everyone to enjoy? Some things are too fragile to touch.

Funny how those old tools were probably just left in a drawer for years... now they're treated like art. Makes you wonder what stuff we use every day will end up behind glass in fifty years. Maybe a smartphone or a plastic coffee pod. Kind of a weird thought.

What's the point of old tools just sitting behind glass? They should be out where you can see the history in your hands. A display like that feels more like a museum than a real shop.
