Pro tip: My balayage game changed after a client's 8 week regrowth

I used to think heavy foil highlights were the only way to get that lived-in look, but then I did a partial balayage on a client in Denver and saw her roots blend so soft at week 8. The low-maintenance grow out sold me completely. Has anyone else switched their default service after seeing a real before and after on someone?

The 8 week regrowth point is where you really see if a color job holds up, and soft root blends make the whole thing foolproof. Now I pretty much push everyone toward balayage unless they specifically want that stripey, high contrast foil look.
