Tbh, I had to choose between a $90 thermal protector spray or a $30 leave-in conditioner for a major color correction client. Went with the spray.

That's a tough call... but a thermal protector isn't really a replacement for a good leave-in. The spray guards against heat, but the conditioner handles moisture and manageability. You might need both for a major correction, honestly.

My stylist friend swears by layering products for color corrections. She says a leave-in is the base layer for moisture, then you seal it with the heat protectant. Skipping one can leave the hair more damaged in the long run.
