That time a bride's updo completely collapsed 20 minutes before the ceremony in a 90-degree Atlanta hotel

Her hair was super fine and silky, and she wanted this huge, intricate style with zero pins showing. I used a whole can of extra-hold spray and thought it was locked in. The humidity just melted it. I had to completely redo it in the hotel hallway with her bridesmaids holding up a sheet for privacy. Ended up doing a much simpler twisted bun with a ton of those tiny clear elastics woven in, and it actually held. Made me swear off certain styles for fine hair in the summer unless I have my industrial-strength thermal setting spray. What's your go-to humidity-proof technique for fine hair?

Oh man, that sounds like a total nightmare. Brian_baker is right, that humidity is brutal. My go-to move is basically drowning fine hair in a mousse before I even start, then sealing it with a light hairspray after each section. The layering seems to build a better defense.

My cousin in Florida just uses a full can of hairspray before she even walks outside.
