TIL those cheap plastic mixing bowls from the dollar store can actually cause color formulas to separate.

I wasted a whole $45 tube of custom color on a client's highlights because the bowl's static messed with the developer, so has anyone found a good brand that doesn't do this?

Honestly sounds like user error to me. I've used those bowls for years with zero problems, you just have to mix properly. Static is a weird excuse, maybe your formula was off or the developer was old. Blaming the bowl is a cop out for not checking your own work first.

Hot take: Static is real though. Wait, have you ever actually measured the static on a plastic bowl after mixing? I mean, I get that user error happens a lot, but to say static is a weird excuse feels off. I've seen it pull powder right out of the bowl before you even pour. Maybe some batches of bowls are worse than others, idk. It just seems like an easy thing to check for instead of assuming everyone is bad at mixing.
