Tried a cheap torch from the hardware store for a month and it was a total waste of time.

People forget how much a weak torch can mess with your muscle memory. You get used to fighting the flame, and then a good torch feels wrong for a day because your hands are trained for the struggle. It sets you back more than just the time it takes to heat the glass.

A customer's 1911 slide stop pin walked out during a test fire and I had to figure out why

Ever hear about the guy whose slide stop launched clear across the room? My buddy had that happen on an old government model. The leg notch was so rounded it was basically a ramp. He ended up doing almost the same thing, just a tiny bit of careful filing, but he also put a slight dimple in the pin leg with a center punch for a little extra bite. Worked like a charm for years after. How much material do you think you can safely take off before it's a real problem?

A specific detail in a famous movie scene that keeps changing

Remember the Fruit of the Loom logo? I swore it had a cornucopia, that little horn basket thing. Saw it on my own underwear as a kid. Looked it up last year and nope, just fruit piled up. My whole childhood memory of laundry day is a lie. That one got me good.

Honestly, I just finished my 500th sheet of 5/8 inch firecode in a single apartment complex build and the number actually hit me.

You said "firecode" but I'm pretty sure you mean Type X. Firecode is the name of the gypsum association's book of rules, not the actual product. It's a super common mix-up. The 5/8 inch sheetrock you're hanging is Type X because it has the extra fire rating. After hanging that much, the number really does get in your head. I remember my first big count on a job and it just feels huge.

Can we talk about those AI recipe generators?

Right? A cup of salt is crazy. I once had one tell me to use a whole onion when the recipe clearly meant a tablespoon of onion powder.
