Unpopular opinion: Wind warnings aren't taken seriously enough.

I almost lost control in a sudden breeze recently.

Gusts hitting you during a lane change, especially near big trucks, is a real thing. It's not just about the wind speed but where it hits you on the road.

Yeah that "sudden push" feeling you described is exactly it. I used to think people were just bad drivers until it happened to me on the bridge last week. Totally get it now.

A sudden breeze made you almost lose control? That's just normal wind around here. Was it really that strong, or did you just get spooked?

Yeah calling it "normal wind" is kinda missing the point. It's not about being spooked, it's about a gust hitting at the exact wrong second when you're already turning or correcting. A little nudge from the side feels way bigger at 65 mph. My old sedan gets pushed around way more than my friend's SUV, so maybe it depends what you drive too. That sudden push can absolutely feel like losing control for a second. You really never felt that?
