Warning: My cousin's wedding party asked me to 'just move a car' with my crane
At my cousin's wedding, a guest said I should use my crane to shift a parked car. I told them it's not safe and breaks a lot of laws. They all laughed like it was a simple thing to do. I got so mad I had to walk away. Now I keep my job talk to a minimum at parties.

You said they laughed like it was a simple thing to do. That's the part that gets me. Lifting a car with a crane is not simple at all. The balance is totally wrong and you could drop it, or tip the crane over. It's also super illegal because of damage and liability. They just see the big machine and don't get the real risk.

Man, that laugh is a total giveaway they've never tried to lift anything tricky. I once almost tipped a forklift just moving a pallet sideways, so @brooke_mitchell46 wondering if the rules are too strict kinda misses how easy it is to mess up. The physics are against you from the start, and that car could swing right into something.
