Dropped $300 on a cult self-help program that was just group therapy

Signed up for The Ascension Path in March after a friend pushed it hard. $300 for 8 weeks of "inner transformation." Turned out it was just the guy reading from a textbook and making us share feelings in breakout rooms. Has anyone else fallen for one of these online guru programs?

lol my buddy just dropped $300 on a concert ticket last week and now he's eating ramen for a month. it adds up quick when you're not expecting it man

Question whether it's really that serious. I mean, $300 on a concert ticket isn't exactly pocket change, but eating ramen for a month because of it? Your buddy must have zero savings or a really tight budget to begin with. Most people can absorb an unexpected $300 expense without completely changing their diet unless they're living paycheck to paycheck. It sounds more like he overspent on the ticket without thinking about his other bills, which is on him. Maybe he should have planned ahead instead of blaming the ticket for his ramen dinners.
