Showerthought: my ex's mom warned me about a wellness group in Tucson in 2021 and I laughed at her
She kept saying the 'breathwork and wealth' group would not let people leave without a sit down with the leader first. I rolled my eyes hard and joined anyway, paid $3,200 for their 6 week program. Two years later the founder got sued in Pima County and three ex members I met at a meetup confirmed the exact same exit interview thing she described. Now I read survivor stories here with a notebook and I still feel dumb about it. Has anyone else brushed off a warning from a family member who turned out to be spot on?

My sister told me my "life coaching" guy was bad news and I told her she was being dramatic, then he skipped town owing like 15 people money. Moms and sisters just know sometimes and we hate hearing it.
