Thought the mall deadheads at Century III were just bored, then one handed me a 1994 food court receipt
I stopped by Century III Mall in West Mifflin last month just to get a few shots of the empty food court before the whole place gets torn down, and this older guy named Ray started talking to me near the old Orange Julius spot. He pulled a 1994 receipt out of his wallet from that exact Sbarro, said he ate there every Friday for 11 years, and it hit me that these regulars aren't just hanging around, they're keeping the place alive in their own way. Does anyone else talk to the leftover mall walkers before they snap photos, or am I the only one doing that now?
That 1994 receipt from the Sbarro is wild, did Ray ever say what he actually ordered every Friday for 11 years? I always ask the regulars what store they miss most before I take any photos. Last guy at my local dead mall told me he still shows up because his wife's ghost is in the Sears.
