inThe blind spot people miss when training image generators on faces
Oh wait, you haven't dealt with this yourself yet? Because yeah, it really is that big of a deal. I remember when it happened to me and I thought I was overreacting until I talked to like five other people who went through the same thing. It messes with your head more than you'd expect, little things just start piling up and you don't even realize how much it's affecting you until you're already overwhelmed. I felt so stupid for being upset about it at first, but now I know it's totally normal.

inTried a power trowel on a big warehouse slab in Tampa last month and now I'm spoiled
40,000 square feet with a power trowel and no swirls is pretty solid work, did you have to run it at a lower speed or use a certain blade angle to get that finish? Your old boss probably never had a good enough machine or a guy who knew how to handle one without leaving those marks. How long did he take to teach you the trick before he let you loose on that slab?

inFinally finished a short story after 3 years of starting and stopping
Yeah I think that's just how it goes sometimes. The stuff that seems small ends up being harder to finish than the big things. Like people who can write a whole novel outline in a day but take two years to clean out their garage.

inUsed to think all weather forecasts were useless until one saved my bacon last spring
Respectfully, I think that's a pretty fair deal considering you could have gotten a ticket too.

inPro tip: found a trick for spotting fake news stories about trucking regulations
Guilty as charged. I've definitely fallen for a "breaking news" alert that turned out to be from three years ago. My brain just goes "oh cool, something happened" and clicks before reading the date. It's like my news diet is just leftovers reheated and served with a fancy new headline. At least the reruns don't cost me anything except my dignity.
