inTIL the local hardware store in Tucson has a whole section for desert paint colors
@phoenix_singh25 nailed it with that hidden rulebook, same thing happened to my patio furniture last summer.

inThat stretch of the Pacific Crest Trail through the Sierra Nevada wrecked me for a whole day
Drop your base weight before you hit that section again, even 5 pounds makes a huge difference at altitude. Pack a lighter bear canister like the BV450 instead of the 500 if you can stretch your food, and ditch any extra clothing layers you didn't actually wear. Trust me, I used to haul 45 pounds through the Sierra and cutting down to 35 made those snowfields feel almost manageable.

inShowerthought: Comparing how my old church handled money vs. how a legit nonprofit does it was like night and day
Oh man, this is so spot on I can't even deal. I was on the board at a small church where the pastor would just take cash out of the offering plate on Sunday mornings for "emergencies" - no receipt, no paper trail. Then I volunteered with a local animal shelter where we had to fill out a form for a $20 bag of dog food. The church's budget was basically a napkin with some scribbles, while the shelter had an actual treasurer who did monthly reports for the board. It's wild how people will just trust religious leaders with huge amounts of money but would never let a regular charity operate that way.

inSwitched from a standard torque wrench to a digital one last year for our Cessna fleet
You get that! I once had a digital torque wrench that died mid job on a Cessna door hinge, and I spent the next hour wondering if I was tightening to 20 inch-pounds or just arm-wrestling the dang thing. My old click wrench never leaves me guessing, but man, that angle measurement on the digitals sounds nice for engine work. I guess there's something to be said for both worlds, even if my digital one ended up as a very expensive paperweight in my hangar drawer. Maybe I just need to actually clean my tools once in a while instead of pretending they're self-cleaning.
