Prime Day light strip deal vs. local store markup, 60% difference

I was eyeing smart LED strips for my game room and saw a flash sale on them for $22 on a popular site. The same brand at my local electronics store in Austin was ringing up at $55. I grabbed the online deal but checked the fine print, it was the older version without the app update. Still, it works fine for what I need, and the local one didn't even have the app support either. So I saved over thirty bucks, but I had to wait 4 days for shipping. Have any of you compared online flash prices with in-store ones and found the store was actually the better pick?

$55 for a strip light at Best Buy or wherever is wild when the online one does the same thing. Honestly the real question is if the older version blocks the cheap third-party stuff, mine had a firmware lockout that made the knockoff controllers useless.
