Vent: That $19.99 air fryer on the app was $19.99 for a reason and I fell for it twice
Saw a 5.8 quart air fryer listed for $19.99 on a big app last month with 4.7 stars and 12,000 reviews, so I ordered two. Box shows up three days later and it is the size of a coffee mug, and the listing photo was just zoomed way in with no hands or counter in frame. Turns out 11 pages of those reviews are for a totally different model, the seller just merged the listings, and the one star reviews buried on page 9 all say the same thing. I know because I spent 40 minutes in the review images counting power cords against outlet plates, and the cord was barely 2 feet. Second one arrived with a cracked handle so I got a refund and kept it. Why do these merged listings never get flagged, and is there a site that shows the real size before you buy?
Man, the coffee mug size got me. That zoomed in listing photo with nothing to compare it to is such a dirty trick, and merging reviews from a totally different model should get the seller booted. You did way more homework than most people would with that power cord counting, and it still got you. The cracked handle one is almost funny in a sad way, at least you got your money back and a free tiny fryer out of it. I don't know of a site that shows real sizes, but checking the review photos for hands or a counter is about the best trick there is.
