The city pool's sign said "up to 40% less bacteria" after the filter swap, so I looked up the actual report
Our parks dept in Boise put up a sign at the outdoor pool last summer saying a new filter system cut bacteria counts "up to 40 percent," and I happened to see the old monthly test logs from 2022 on the city website before they got pulled. When I lined up the two years side by side, the real drop in coliform readings was closer to 12 percent, and the 40 number only showed up on one sample from week 3. The sign is still up. Has anyone else run into a city or school posting a "best sample" stat like it's the average?
