My daughter told me she fact checks my texts now, and I honestly didn't know whether to laugh or feel embarrassed
She's 19 and she said it so casual, like everyone does it. I sent her one of those posts about a big recall on a certain brand of canned chili, and she came back in under 10 minutes with a link from the FDA site saying no such recall existed. I asked how she found it so quick and she said she just types the claim into a search with the word 'false' after it. That one little trick would've saved me from forwarding a bunch of junk to my whole family over the years. Now I do it before I share anything, and about half the stuff people send me falls apart in 30 seconds. Is there a site you all use that keeps a running list of these fake claims, or do you just search each one by hand?
